This scarf was made to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Semenko, a Ukrainian avant-garde poet who was suppressed by the former Soviet authorities. Mikhail Semenko is considered a key figure in the "Executed Renaissance", a literary revival of Ukrainian culture, and the scarf features a line from his poem "Patagonia" inscribed on it: "I owe my life not to dying, but to living."

Patagonia Scarf
This scarf was created for the 130th birthday of the Ukrainian avant-garde futurist poet Mykhayl Semenko, who was repressed by the Soviet authorities in 1937. Mykhailo Semenko is considered to be one of the lead figures of the Executed Renaissance. The scarf features a verse from his poem “Patagonia”, that reads: “I will not die of death, I will die of life.”
